BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Nov.14th the 37th annual AVCA All-Region team with
Noelle Poloncarz and
Meaghan Mastro earning a spot on the Northeast Region team for The College at Brockport women's volleyball team.
Poloncarz and Mastro have notched a First-Team All-Region spot, which earns them a place on the All-American Honorable Mention list. This is the third straight year that Poloncarz has been recognized by the AVCA for her excellence on the court. This past season, the setter paced the Golden Eagles offense as she finished the 2017 season with 947 assists, averaging 9.47 assists per set, which was good for fourth in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). On the defensive side, Poloncarz finished second on the team with 259 digs and averaged 2.59 digs per set.
Mastro made a statement in her rookie campaign as she led the SUNYAC conference with a .386 hitting percentage, which ranks her 14th in the nation. The native of Apalachin, N.Y. finished the season with 173 kills and added 63 blocks, which earned her SUNYAC Rookie of the Year accolades.
The Brockport volleyball team finished their season with a record of 26-9, making their third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
