BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport wrestling team had a dominant team performance on Saturday, placing a wrestler in the top three at nine of the ten weight classes. Jonathan Haas (125), Nate Walker (141), Sean Peacock (149), and Triston Engle (197) all took first in their respective weight classes.
 
Haas has had a strong season to this point, and kept up the pace today, winning his first bout by fall in just 1:22 before a second round bye. He closed out the day with a 20-5 technical fall victory over Alfred State's Patrick Lehman.
 
The Golden Eagles took the top two slots in the 141-lb weight class, as Walker pinned two opponents on his way to a finals matchup with teammate Sean O'Hagan, where he came out on top with a 14-2 major decision.
 
Peacock had an easy road to the finals at 149, winning his first two matches by fall before an 18-2 technical fall win in the semifinal bout. The finals would prove a bit more challenging, but Peacock was able to squeeze out an 8-7 decision win over Nate Skonieczny of Jamestown Community College.
 
Engle, who is the No. 2 wrestler in Division III at the 197-lb weight class, continued to prove his validity on Saturday. The sophomore won all five of his bouts, three of which came by fall including one that took just 0:43 seconds for him to pin Niagara CC's John Fuino.
 
The Golden Eagle wrestling team will be back in action on Wednesday, when they host Oswego State for a dual meet where the five Brockport seniors will be honored for their contributions to the program.
