Brockport Takes Two Duals at Roger Williams

Golden Eagles defeat Worcester Polytechnic and Western New England

Jordan Dyer scored three victories for Brockport in duals at Roger Williams
Freshman Jordan Dyer (Chenango Forks, NY/Chenango Forks) scored a pair of decisions and a major decision for The College at Brockport Wrestling team leading the Golden Eagles to a 34-6 victory over Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a 45-6 win over Western New England but Brockport fell by a close 21-17 score in the dual against Roger Williams Saturday afternoon at Roger Williams in Bristol, RI.
 
Dyer scored a 7-1 decision at 141 pounds in the WPI match, added a 10-4 victory in the Roger Williams dual and posted a 17-7 major decision in his victory over Western New England.
 
Against WPI, heavyweight Cole Tristram (Newton Falls, NY/Clifton-Fine) scored a pin victory near the end of the second period and Nick Joy (Lyndonville, NY/Medina) was a major decision winner with a 13-3 victory at 174 for Brockport. At 133, Michael Leonard (Levittown, NY/W.T. Clarke) won a 7-0 decision, Kristopher Shirley (Lacona, NY/Sandy Creek) won a 5-1 decision at 157 and Matthew Lashway (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) took a 4-2 decision for Brockport at 197 pounds.
 
Against Western New England, Tyler Marlow (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon), Adam Troy (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman), Shirley, Clayton Neivert (Ossining, NY/Ossining) and Lashway all posted pins for the Golden Eagles as Brockport won each bout except for the 285 match which Western New England took by forfeit.
 
Against Roger Williams, Brockport won the first three matches as Marlow won at 133 with an 18-3 technical fall, Dyer won his decision and Troy was a sudden victory winner at 5-3 in overtime at 149 pounds as Brockport built an 11-0 lead.
 
Roger Williams answered with three straight decisions including a close 10-9 decision in the 174-pound bout to cut the Brockport lead to 11-9. Roger Williams scored a 6-point pin at 184 and another two decisions at 197 and 285 for the 21-11 lead before a forfeit in the final bout gave Brockport its final six points for the 21-17 final score.
