2012 Men's All-Conference Teams 2012 Women's All-Conference Teams
Eight members of The College at Brockport Men's and Women's Track and Field teams have been named to the first or second all-conference teams. Four men and four women were selected, including two freshmen from each team. The top two finishers in individual events at the SUNYAC Championships make the All-Conference teams. The individual champions are on the first team and second place finishers are on the second team.
For the men, senior
Dustin Colgan (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and freshman
Darius Favors (West Haverstraw, NY/North Rockland) were named to the First-Team All-SUNYAC while sophomore
Brendon Ganschow (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) and freshman
Samuel Taft (Schenectady/Schenectady Christian) were named to the Second-Team All-SUNYAC.
Colgan was also named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the SUNYAC Championships after finishing first in the hammer throw, third in the discus, and fourth in the shot put. Colgan is the seventh straight Golden Eagle to win the hammer throw event. Favors was named to the first-team after winning the discus event with a mark of 47.29 meters (155'-02”).
Taft was placed on the second-team after finishing second in the decathlon with 5,590 points. Ganschow finished second in the shot put event with a distance of 14.74 meters (48'-4.5”). Brockport placed two athletes in the top five of both the discus and shot put.
On the women's side,
Becky Fabbiano (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and
Nicole Jones (West Charlton, NY/Galway) both earned First-Team All-SUNYAC for the second consecutive year after finishing first in their respective event at the championships. Fabbiano cleared a school-record height of 3.55 meters (11'-7.75”). Fabbiano cleared 3.40 meters (11'-1.75”) at last year's championships.
Jones was the top finisher in the shot put event with a mark of 12.76 meters (41'-10.5”). The junior also came in second place in the hammer throw and fifth in the discus. Joining Jones from the Brockport throws team was freshman
Courtney White (Massena, NY/Massena) who was named Second-Team All-SUNYAC. White finished second in the discus throw with a distance of 40.07 meters (131'-5”). White also finished second in the shot put as Brockport took the top four spots in the event and five of the top six.
Freshman
Rachel Malone (Fairport, NY/Fairport) finished second in the women's 10,000 meter run to earn Second-Team All-SUNYAC honors. Malone finished with a time of 37:20.98, over two minutes better than the third-place finisher and just 16 seconds behind the first place finisher, a senior from Plattsburgh.
Both the Brockport men's and women's teams finished in fourth place at the championships. The men posted a score of 110 points while the women finished with 116 points. Cortland took home both the men's and women's SUNYAC Championships.
