Three Named to First-Team All-SUNYAC

The Golden Eagles finished as runners-up in the SUNYAC Tournament

Three members of The College at Brockport Baseball team were selected to the First-Team All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). Senior Corey Booth (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley), junior James Bardenett (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) and sophomore Justin McCarthy (Mohegan Lake, NY/Lakeland) were selected to the 12-player team.

Booth led Brockport in almost every offensive category throughout the year. Booth finished with a team-high .369 batting average while starting all 43 games. The senior started the final 72 games of his career and a total of 78 out of a possible 80 games over his two year stint at Brockport. Booth also led the Golden Eagles with 59 hits and 35 runs batted in. Booth led the SUNYAC with 35 RBI and 355 putouts at first base, 80 more than any other player. Booth was also named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament team and the SUNYAC Player of the Week on April 9.

Bardenett tied the Brockport single season school record with nine victories on the mound. The junior posted a 2.54 earned run average while going 9-2 on the year. Bardenett led the SUNYAC with 78 innings pitched and was tied for third with 63 strikeouts on the year. The junior was a three-time winner of the SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week award. Bardenett was also named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament team.

McCarthy finished the season tied for first in the nation with 10 saves. The 10 saves were five more than any other pitcher in the SUNYAC. McCarthy led Brockport with a 1.20 ERA and had a 2-2 record on the mound as the Golden Eagles' primary closer. In 30 innings of work, McCarthy allowed just four earned runs and held opponents to a .173 batting average.

Brockport finished the season as runners-up in the SUNYAC Tournament to the Cortland Red Dragons. Brockport's overall record is 26-17.
