2012 All-New York Region Teams
Sophomore
Justin McCarthy (Mohegan Lake, NY/Lakeland) and junior
James Bardenett (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) of The College at Brockport Baseball team have been named to the New York All-Region teams, announced by d3baseball.com.
McCarthy was selected to the first-team, the only relief pitcher named to the team. McCarthy was one of the top closers in all of Division III baseball over the season, posting 10 saves, tied for second in the nation. The sophomore also had a 2-2 record and a team-best 1.20 ERA while appearing in a team-high 18 games.
Bardenett was named to the third-team after tying a single season school record with nine wins on the year. Bardenett finished the season with a 9-2 record and a 2.54 ERA. The junior led the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) with 78 innings pitched and tied for third with 63 strikeouts. Bardenett was also named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament team.
Both players were chosen to the First-Team All-SUNYAC at the end of the season. The Golden Eagles finished as runners-up in the SUNYAC Tournament and posted a final record of 26-17.
