The College at Brockport Women's Basketball team has been named the Champs Life Skills Team of the Year, awarded by the Student-Athlete Affairs.
The Life Skills competition represents a competitive contest played by all the varsity athletic teams at Brockport. The competition provided a means by which student athletes competed on behalf of their teams for points in different categories. Competition focuses on educating the student athlete, providing opportunities in team and personal enhancement, being an active role model and leader, enhancing team cohesion through community service as well as rewarding overall academic achievement.
The Golden Eagles participated in events such as the Brockport Clothing Shelf, volunteering for the National Walk to School Day, Community Leaf Raking, HOPE- Read in Action, Big Sister Day with the Greece girls' modified basketball team, the Rochester Breast Cancer Walk, and the Wheelchair Basketball Game sponsored by Brockport Advocates for Students with Disabilities. The team posted an overall GPA of 3.14 in the fall semester.
