Sophomore brothers Riley Austin (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) and Alex Austin (Rochester, NY/Trinity-Pawling) each scored three goals for The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team but the Golden Eagles fell to the No. 6 ranked RIT Tigers 16-10 on Wednesday.

Both brothers scored one first half goal each then combined to score the team's final four goals. The Golden Eagles kept the game close in the first half and held an early two goal lead. Brockport trailed by only one at halftime, but the Tigers scored the first four goals of the second half and 10 of the first 11 to drop Brockport in the non-conference matchup.

Riley Austin assisted to Jesse Elliot (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) for the game's first goal just 59 seconds in the first quarter. The two teams went without a goal for over the next 10 minutes until Alex Austin scored on a pass from Elliot to put Brockport up 2-0. The Tigers responded with a goal 22 seconds later and another goal 34 seconds after that to knot the score at two. Both goals came on man-up advantages. RIT tacked on one more goal with a minute left in the quarter to take the lead.

The Golden Eagles started the scoring in the second period on a goal by Matt Andon-McLane (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham). RIT responded with two of their own goals to take a 5-3 lead. Brockport stayed in the game as Riley Austin scored the first half's final goal with 2:24 remaining and the Golden Eagles went into halftime trailing by just one, 5-4.

Brockport's downfall came in the opening minutes of the second half as RIT scored a goal 1:56 into the third quarter and rattled off three more over the next eight minutes, including two man-up goals. Elliot scored his second goal of the game to end the Tigers' streak to cut the deficit to 9-5, but RIT scored six straight at the end of the third period and opening minutes of the fourth to decide the game. Brendon Rothfuss (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) scored his first goal of the season. RIT added one more goal before the Riley brothers took turns scoring the final four goals over the last 3:37 of the game.

Cory Banwaree (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) made 10 saves and allowed 15 of the 16 goals. Jason Baetzhold (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) made his first appearance of the season in net and allowed one goal.
