BOXSCORE

Freshman Katie Sullivan (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) scored three goals with all three coming in the first half for The College at Brockport Women's Lacrosse team but a late first half run allowed St. Lawrence University to build a six-goal lead and the Saints held on late for a 15-14 victory Friday in the final game of the Spring Training trip for the Golden Eagles in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The teams traded goals early in the game and Sullivan's free position goal at 18:24 tied the score at 3-3. A minute and a half later, the Saints (2-1) took a 4-3 lead but Brockport (2-1) answered with three straight goals for a 6-4 advantage. Emily Zartman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua), Karen Bianchi (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) and Kaila Maguire (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam) each scored for the Golden Eagles in the streak.

Over the next 20 minutes through the end of the first half and into the second half, the Saints scored nine of the next 10 goals to take a six-goal lead.

With 21;25 left to play in the second half, Erin Featherstone (Tully, NY/Tully) scored starting a rally for the Golden Eagles as Brockport score six of the next seven goals to cut the Saint lead to 14-13 with 4:51 remaining in the second half.

St. Lawrence scored 30 seconds later for a two-goal advantage and held Brockport without a goal over the next three minutes before Alyssa Case (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) scored to trim the lead back to a single goal but the Golden Eagles were not able to score the game-tying goal as St. Lawrence held on for the win.

Sullivan led Brockport with three goals while Zartman, Dayna Piraino (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) and Maguire each recorded two goals and an assist. Bianchi, Sarah Brown (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) and Case all had a goal and an assist while Allyson Wolf (West Seneca, West Seneca West) and Featherstone each had a goal.
