Sophomore Brendon Rothfuss (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) scored two goals and added three assists for The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team but the Golden Eagles dropped a 13-9 decision to St. John Fisher College Wednesday at Growney Stadium in Pittsford.

Brockport (1-4) fell behind early as St. John Fisher (1-1) scored two goals in the first quarter and then added the first four goals of the second quarter for a 6-0 lead before Jesse Elliott (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and Matt Andon-McLane (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) each scored to cut the lead. Rothfuss had the assist on each goal.

The Cardinals scored the next two goals to go into the halftime intermission with an 8-2 lead.

In the third quarter, St. John Fisher scored twice for a 10-2 lead before Rothfuss scored the first of his two goals. After the Cardinals scored to start the fourth quarter, Brockport scored six of the final eight goals of the game with three coming in man-up situations for the final score. Elliott and Riley Austin (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) scored within 33 seconds of each other before Rothfuss and Andon-McLane each scored and Nate Thomas (Cortland, NY/Cortland) and Austin finished the scoring in the final 33 seconds of the game.

Rothfuss led the team with five points while Andon-McLane chipped in two goals and an assist, Elliott and Austin had two goals each and Thomas recorded a goal and two assists.
