The College at Brockport Gymnastics team, ranked No. 1 in the country among Division III teams, continued to improve scoring a season-best 187.575 in a tri-meet against NCAA Division I teams Cornell and Penn Saturday at Cornell University in Ithaca.

Taylor Wierzba (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) led the way with a 9.75 score on the floor exercise finishing second overall. Junior Taryn Kateridge (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) and senior Kileigh Chapman (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) tied for fourth on the floor with each picking up scores of 9.65. Elizabeth Levy (Glen Allen, PA/Hermitage) added a 9.55 and Stephanie Pastorelli (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) chipped in a 9.5 score on her routing for the Golden Eagles.

“Overall, I thought we did well but we did not score well on the beam and a good score there would have given us an amazing team score,” said head coach John Feeney. “The highlight of the meet for us was the floor with several good scores.”

Brockport's previous top score of the season was a 186.474 at Springfield College and the Golden Eagles have not scored below 185.800 yet this season.

Olivia Silvestro (Palm City, FL/Martin County) led Brockport with a 9.65 vault while Amanda Carney (Walpole., MA/Walpole) added a 9.625.

Heidi Beckerich (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) was the high scorer for the Golden Eagles on the bars with a 9.45 while Levy scored a 9.425. Beckerich also had the team's best beam routine with a 9.2.
