Sophomore James McCabe (Ronkonkoma, NY/Connetquot), senior Justin James (Spencerport, NY/Brockport), junior Clay Neivert (Ossining, NY/Ossining) and junior Wheeler Brunschmid (Sherburne, NY/Sherburne-Earlville) each registered major decision victories to lead The College at Brockport Wrestling team to a decisive 31-6 victory over St. Andrews Presbyterian University Friday in the first round of the Virginia Duals at the Hampton Convention Center in Hampton, Virginia.
 
Brockport (2-0) advances to f ace Central Florida University in the second round of the dual tournament at 2 pm Saturday. Central Florida defeated Johns Hopkins University 35-11. The winner of the Brockport/Central Florida match will advance to the championship of the tournament at 8:30 pm Saturday against the winner of Liberty University and Nassau Community College.
 
The Golden Eagles posted victories in each of the first four matches of the dual against St. Andrews. Freshman Asher Kramer (Sloatsburg, NY/Suffern) earned an 8-2 decision at 125 pounds before McCabe wrestled his way to a 12-2 major decision in the 133-pound bout. Junior Eliah Golding (Albany, NY/Colonie) was a 4-0 winner at 141 and freshman Lewis Cucchiara (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) won an 11-9 decision at 149 pounds.
 
The lone loss in the dual was at 157 pounds where senior Tom Rispoli (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) was leading 11-3 before being taken down and pinned at the 4:20 mark of the bout.
 
Brockport went on to win the final five matches with James, Neivert and Brunschmid posting back-to-back-to-back major decisions. James won 16-7 at 165 pounds, Neivert scored a 12-0 shutout at 174 pounds and Brunschmid was a 13-1 winner at 184 pounds for the Golden Eagles. Junior Paul Glover (Rochester, NY/Spencerport) won a 6-4 decision at 197 pounds and sophomore John Wilkinson (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) closed out the match with an 11-7 decision in the 285-pound weight class.
