Fiorilllo Is SUNYAC Goalie of the Week

Senior made career-high 23 saves in Brockport's 11-10 win over Plattsburgh

Jon Fiorillo had career-high 23 saves vs. Plattsburgh to earn SUNYAC Goalie of the Week honors.
Senior Jon Fiorillo (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) stopped a career-high 23 shots as The College at Brockport's men's lacrosse team picked up a big 11-10 home win over State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Plattsburgh Saturday afternoon. Fiorillo was honored by the SUNYAC as its Men's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week.

Fiorillo, who transferred into Brockport from Division I Manhattan College, made eight crucial saves in the fourth quarter as the Golden Eagles (4-7 overall, 1-3 SUNYAC) preserved their one-goal lead.

With Plattsburgh threatening to complete its comeback attempt, Fiorillo came up big late in the game, making several one-on-one saves against Kyle Norchi, who entered the contest leading the SUNYAC with 37 goals, 13 assists and 50 points.

Thanks to Fiorillo's clutch play in net, the Golden Eagles were able to hand the Cardinals their first SUNYAC loss of the year.

Fiorillo stopped 69.7 percent of the shots he faced against Plattsburgh, and 61.4 percent of the shots he faced for the week. He also had 12 saves during Brockport's 12-9 loss at Geneseo Wednesday.
